ABOUT CONFERENCE
Dear friends,
Toxicology or the science of safety deals with harmful effects of chemical substances on animals, humans and the environment. Over the years, this branch of science has evolved and now deals with effects of synthetic substances like nanoparticles, polymeric biomaterials, food additives etc. Keeping its increasing importance in mind, Pushpagiri Research Centre (PRC) in collaboration with Bishop Moor College, proudly announces the VIIth edition of its annual research conference- Bioradiance. The Bioradiance 2019 will focus on the central theme of “Toxicity – Current perspectives” and will feature a pre-conference workshop on Animal Handling.Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre (PIMS&RC) which is a fully –fledged 1200 bedded, hi-tech super speciality Medical College Hospital, was started 60 year before (1959) as a small clinic with eight beds in 1959 to cater to rural maternity care. During this long 60 years’ journey, PIMS&RC has played a vital role in contributing to the economic and social development of Kerala and has continued moving ahead with a renewed understanding and vision, ‘We Care God Cures’.Besides giving a comprehensive overview on recent advances in toxicity, the conference will provide a platform for postgraduate students, researchers and scholars to showcase their work. We warmly welcome you to the conference and sincerely hope that it enriches your career as a researcher.
PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP ON ANIMAL HANDLING
Bioradiance 2019 will have a pre-conference workshop on animal handling and ethics, on 5th July 2019. The main objective of the workshop is to build competence in animal handling and using various animal models for research purposes. This hands-on workshop will be beneficial to researchers who are engaged in or who are planning animal experiments. The pre-conference workshop is open to postgraduate or doctoral students, research fellows in veterinary or biological sciences, researchers planning to conduct animal experiments and postgraduates from any biological disciplines. The workshop will include lectures, visit to our animal facility and hands-on practical sessions. The maximum number of participants is restricted to twenty five (25) to promote a more robust learning experience. Candidates will have to make their own arrangements for accommodation and transport. QUIZ
The annual quiz competition held as a part of Bioradiance, is one of the most anticipated science events in this part of the state. It tests the knowledge of students on topics like biochemistry, biotechnology, microbiology and molecular biology. The winners of this prestigious event are offered attractive prizes and gift vouchers.Any department from a college can send a two-member team to represent them at the quiz competition. There will be a screening round in written format, and the final round will be on-stage. We do not charge any entry fee for participation.
