Research Areas

  1. Clinical Biochemistry: Investigating biochemical pathways and their alterations in various disease conditions. The work includes identifying the novel biomarkers for disease diagnosis and monitoring, as well as exploring biochemical mechanisms underlying disorders like cancer, diabetes, or cardiovascular diseases.
  2. Molecular Biology: Focusing on the molecular mechanisms that regulate cellular functions and disease progression. This area includes studies on gene expression, protein interactions, and signal transduction pathways that may help in understanding diseases at a molecular level.
  3. Metabolic Disorders: Research in this area involves studying disorders that affect metabolic pathways, such as obesity, diabetes, and hypercholesterolemia. The studies focus on identifying molecular targets for intervention, investigating the role of enzymes and hormones in metabolic regulation, and developing therapeutic strategies.
  4. Oxidative Stress and Antioxidants: Exploring how oxidative stress contributes to the development of diseases and the exploring potential of antioxidants from plant sources to mitigate these effects. This research could be relevant to aging, cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and cardiovascular disorders.
  5. Nanotechnology in Biomedicine: Application of nanoscience in diagnostic and therapeutic fields, such as the development of nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems or nanomaterials for bio-sensing and imaging.

Through this interdisciplinary approach, the lab is likely contributing to novel insights into disease mechanisms, diagnostics, and potential therapies in the field of biochemistry.
