Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT) Cochin signed MOU with Pushpagiri Medical Society

The central institute of fisheries technology (CIFT) Cochin has signed MOU with the Pushpagiri Medical Society. The MOU will facilitate the development of artificial tissues for dental, orthopedic and cosmetic applications and various marine based formulations for medical, food and UV protective product development.  

This MOU is a stepping stone to increase and improve medical and dental research activities in the area of tissue engineering .The unending potential of the fish resources could be utilized for medical and dental tissue for the development and innovative technologies. Both the parties have agreed in principle to cooperate for exchanging scientific knowledge and information.

The Pushpagiri Research Center is headed by the Director of Academics and Research of Pushpagiri Group of Institution, Rev Dr Fr Mathew Mazhavancheril.  It is a recognized centre for Ph. D. under the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS). A number of research projects are currently being undertaken at the center which is funded by national as well as international bodies.
